In February we took our idea to a national AI summit. In June we did something scarier and showed the actual product to the people who would use it.
A launch inside a launch
On 18 June 2026, Delhi's Education Minister Ashish Sood inaugurated the Atal Incubation Centre at the NSUT Incubation and Innovation Foundation in Dwarka. The Tribune reported that it is a 10,000 sq ft facility backed by a Rs 10 crore grant from the Atal Innovation Mission, with centres of excellence for AI and IoT, co-working space, fabrication labs and a founders' lounge.
Zoffer is incubated there, so this was partly a housewarming. We treated it as a launch of our own. Sharing a launch day with your incubator is very efficient: they bring the guests, and you bring the kiosk.
The kiosk
The day included a startup showcase where eleven startups, Zoffer among them, showed what they were building. We demoed the simplest version of what we do, which fits in six words: stop typing bills, just forward them.
The people who walked up were the ones we built this for: business owners who would actually use it, other startups, and CAs who would be using it on behalf of their clients. That was the point of a pre-launch: the first time we put the product itself, not a description of it, in front of the people who have the problem.
The aha moment
The part we will remember is the look on people's faces. Visitors recognised the problem straight away, the pile of bills that has to be typed in every month, and then watched one get forwarded and turn into a drafted entry. Our founder Chirag Goyal put it best afterwards:
“Visitors resonating with the pain point and the aha moment seeing our system work is a real validation.” Chirag Goyal, Founder, Zoffer
The pain point did most of the explaining for us. Anyone who has typed a month of bills into accounting software already knows why forwarding them sounds better.
A minister at the kiosk
Education Minister Ashish Sood stopped by the kiosk to see the product firsthand. In Chirag's words: good questions, real interest. Demoing bookkeeping software to a minister does something to your nerves. You find yourself checking the GST maths on the sample bill twice.
News18 Hindi was also at the inauguration, and the interview they recorded there became their report on Zoffer a week later. We went through that report claim by claim in News18 covered Zoffer: what the tool actually does.
What we brought home
Confidence, mostly. Before this day, "people will forward their bills instead of typing them" was something we believed. After it, it was something we had watched strangers react to. It was not a big enough sample to call a result, but it was enough to know we were building the right thing.
Eight days later we took the same idea to a much harder room: a few thousand chartered accountants.
Thanks to Jatin Dogra for running such a lively event, and to the AIC NSUT team for letting us turn their launch into ours.
